Personalised Octopus Card System for Incoming Year 7 Students

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to you about the personalised Octopus Card system which Sha Tin College successfully operates for students to register in and out of school. Students also use Octopus Cards for other reasons on our campus as well, for example, to check-out library books and textbooks. You may read more about our procedures on the use of personalised Octopus Cards in school at the following link: https://shatincollege.edu.hk/octopus-and-mtr-concessionary-fares-for-students/

We would therefore like all students who are joining us in Year 7 for the new academic year commencing August 2020 to integrate into this system. Every child must have a personalised Octopus card with them to complete the Registration process at the start of school in August 2020. Please procure a personalised Octopus Card and send it by 1 June 2020 to to Joshua Yau, Sha Tin College, 3 Lai Wo Lane, Fo Tan, N.T. Hong Kong. Upon receipt of the card, we will have it activated in the school’s Gateway system ready for when your child joins us in August 2020. The Octopus card will be returned to your child by your child’s Form Tutor on the first day of school. Your child can then carry out the registration process. Please note that your child will not be able to complete the Registration process if he/she is not in possession of a personalised Octopus card.

Do approach any of the MTR branch offices to apply for a Personalised Octopus card. Online applications can also be made through the MTR’s webpage at the following link: https://www.octopus.com.hk/en/consumer/octopus-cards/products/on-loan/personalised.html

May I also take this opportunity to remind you that we have now streamlined the purchase of school uniforms and school bus applications online. Please go to the following links for information on school uniforms and school buses.
