To celebrate the coming Chinese New Year, Year 7 students brought in plants that they had grown over Christmas. The impatiens, or Bizzie Lizzies, were donated by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to promote a green culture and a sense of community amongst students, as the plants became gifts for the elderly.
The plants along with donations of daily essentials were brought to a local elderly home by student service representatives and members of staff from Sha Tin College. The students had a wonderful time at the elderly home, talking with the elderly, sticking up the lucky messages and performing Disney songs. They also decorated the home with Fai Chun and Lai See art that they had made in Chinese lessons.
We hope that we brought some Chinese New Year cheer to the elderly!
