Year 12 Careers/Higher Education Preparation Days

Careers/Higher Education Preparation Days (Year 12 Students) – 19th & 22nd June 2020

& Virtual Q & A Session for Parents/Guardians – 3rd June 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

We have set aside two full days for all students in Year 12 to begin research into their higher education plans. Time invested now on HE applications will hopefully relieve some stress later when students start Year 13 in the Autumn Term.

On both days, your son/daughter will be off timetable and there will be a variety of webinars from different universities and guest presenters. The two days are designed to prepare students with the knowledge and understanding of the various university application processes and what universities look for in potential students. Please note that during the two days, the students will be supported by their tutors, who will eventually write their academic references. There will also be an opportunity to meet (online) with various professionals from our alumni, should students have similar career aspirations.  Choosing which college or university to attend after Sha Tin College is a big decision. Taking the time now, by conducting thorough research and accumulating as much information as possible will help students make strong university applications next term.

For parents and guardians, I have arranged a virtual Q & A session on Wednesday 3rd June (8 am to 9 am), should you have questions or concerns relating to the HE process. Please email the higher education department (highered@stconline.edu.hk) before 1st June and I will arrange a link to be forwarded to you.

Yours faithfully,

David Stott
