Year 12 ALIS data Parents Information Evening
Dear Parents,
We would like to invite you to an information evening on Monday 23rd November from 6.00 – 7.00 pm in the Senior School Centre (SSC). The purpose of the evening is to give you some more detailed information about the CEM IBE (formally ALIS) tests which your child took last August. These are baseline tests which, combined with GCSE data, are designed to estimate potential rather than academic achievement.
The CEM IBE tests provide valuable guidance for students, parents and teachers in informing how they can best support students in their learning. During the week starting 23rd November all students will meet with their tutor to look at their personal CEM IBE data. Tutors will offer guidance as to what the data means and will explain to the students what their CEM IBE scores tell them about setting realistic targets for IB.
At the information evening, I will give a presentation explaining the purpose and value of the tests in far more detail. After the presentation, you will be able to collect a copy of your child’s CEM IBE data and ask questions. Please note that test results are confidential and must be signed for by parents. Students will soon be seeing their own data so there is no need for them to attend. We shall post home any results which are not collected on the evening.
If you are able to attend please confirm your attendance via email to seniorschooladministrator@shatincollege.edu.hk. by 3pm on Friday 20th November.
We look forward to seeing you then,
Yours faithfully,
Gareth Morgan Paul Hoang Jane Parry
