Think Pink!
All about the pink, STC Pink Week 2016 was held in the week starting on the 7th of November and ending on the 11th. Organised by a group of 7 passionate Y12 students, Pink Week is held annually to raise awareness for breast cancer and to aid patients. The week was full of events; including cotton candy sales, a flower drive, a casual day, and merchandise sales, with at least one activity held every day.

“Pink Week was no easy feat,” said Ching Hei Cheung 12P1, one of the head coordinators, “but I am elated to say that we were able to reach our goal and offer our token of awareness to the breast cancer society.” The experience has taught her “not only about the prevalence of breast cancer worldwide” but also “of the myriad of ways that individuals like us can contribute to our society.”
Owen Chong 12X2 really enjoyed all the events, stating that “the week was really valuable because not only have I learned a lot about the impact that the disease has on the world today, but it also proves that even us students can make a change and difference in society.”
The amount of work put into the week definitely paid off, as the students were able to raise a grand total of over $11,000! All of these funds have been donated to the Hong Kong Cancer Fund, about which more information can be found on its website: http://pink.cancer-fund.org/en/.
A sincere thank you to all the students and teachers that helped out with this event!
