Reminder – “Depression – The Silent Disease” by Dr. Ronnie Pao
Dear Parents,
Given the rising suicide rates among teenagers worldwide, we’d like to bring your attention to a few events scheduled in April which hope to shed light on this epidemic.
“Depression – The Silent Disease” by Dr. Ronnie Pao
6pm, Fri, 20th April (6.00pm refreshments and social time / 6.30pm presentation to start )
Sha Tin College, 4/F, Block 3, Senior School Centre
Sponsored by STC PTSA, the aim of this talk is to raise awareness about psychological disorders so that the tragedy of teenage suicides may be prevented. Our children are coming under increasing pressures from a fast-paced and constantly changing society. Dr. Ronnie Pao will advise us how to recognize the difference between the ‘teenage blues’ or something more serious at play.
Having been in the field of psychiatry and public health for over 18 years, Dr. Pao has worked with the National Health Service in the UK, Hospital Authority in Hong Kong, and is currently running his own private practice. He has a Bachelor of Medical Science, Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Nottingham and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK).
Please RSVP to the PTSA Administrator Mercy Hsieh (mercy.hsieh@shatincollege.edu.hk)
Best Regards,
