Emma PARYANI (12X2) was nominated to join the CUHK Knowledge Enrichment Programme (KEP) on 21st December 2022. The day consisted of experiential taster activities hosted by different faculties and a university campus tour, our students found this opportunity very helpful in better understanding of educational lectures.

The winter holiday of 2022, I attended the CUHK Knowledge Enrichment Program (KEP) to gain insight into college life at CUHK and get a feel of what lectures at the university are like. I decided to take the Science lecture on extreme weather and the evolution of flight in dinosaurs. The second faculty session I chose was on Medicine, specifically the comparison of COVID-19 and obesity, which one is the future threat? Both of the lectures were incredibly engaging and I now feel more secure in my choice of pursuing Medicine.

After the lectures, we had lunch and were given a tour of the campus. Although I have visited the CUHK campus before, it was interesting to talk to current medical students who led the tour, and we were able to ask them questions on how to ensure a successful application. Overall, it was a rewarding and fruitful experience which I thoroughly enjoyed. I would recommend this program to those who are unsure of which career path they are interested in or those who would like to study in Hong Kong.
