Author Visit: Chris Bradford

AUTHOR VISIT: CHRIS BRADFORD

We are excited to announce that Chris Bradford, UK author of the popular ‘Young Samurai’ and ‘Bodyguard’ series, is visiting Sha Tin College on Tuesday 29 September.  During the day, he will be speaking to all students in Years 7-11, Year 6 students from Sha Tin Junior School as well as a number of Year 12 students.

Not only is Chris an accomplished writer – he has written 18 fiction and five non-fiction books, been nominated for over 30 book awards and is the winner of the Northern Ireland Book Awards 2011 and the Brilliant Book Award 2014 – but he is also accomplished in martial arts.  When writing his award-winning series, ‘Young Samurai’, Chris used ‘method-writing’.  This involved him training in iaido (samurai swordmanship), karate, ninjutsu and earning him a black belt in Zen Kyu Shin Taijutsu.  He says, “I write the type of books I’d want to read – books filled with relentless action, believable characters and a plot that twists and turns through the pages!”  His presentations promise to be action-packed and engaging for students and staff alike!

Chris will be available on the day for book signing and if any students would like to purchase any of his ‘Young Samurai’ series, we have a number of his books available for sale in the Library.  Please print off and complete the attached order form – please note that only cash will be accepted; no cheques.

We trust your child will find Chris’ presentation enjoyable, relevant and fun and will encourage students to continue on their journey as readers for life.
