Key Dates this term for Y6 Students and Parents
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This letter is a reminder about two key events that are taking place at Sha Tin College for new Year 7 students 2016-2017. This information has already been sent to you, but for your convenience it is included again below. Please note that the parent afternoon has been extended for those parents who are interested in attending a presentation by the Learning Support department.
Friday 3rd June: Taster Day for current Year 6 students (students only).
This is a day for students to experience Sha Tin College. They will meet their Tutor and the other students in their tutor group and experience some lessons first-hand. All students are expected to attend and it is a very enjoyable and worthwhile day for them. Please email our Lower School Administrator, Ms Lia Ali at alil3@stconline.edu.hk, if your son/daughter will not be able to attend. Students should arrive at 8.45am and the day will end at 2.40pm. They should wear their current school uniform. The students will be able to buy food from our cafeteria, using an Octopus card, or they can bring their own lunch. Students at SJS will be able to get their normal bus home. Parents with children at other schools will need to arrange transport home from Sha Tin College.
Wednesday 8th June: Y6 Parent Afternoon (parents only).
This is an opportunity for parents to have an organised tour of the school and visit some lessons. This will be followed by a presentation providing key information about Sha Tin College. This will start at 1.15pm, in the Senior School Centre on the third floor, and finish at 3.15pm. At 3.15 our Learning Support Centre will deliver a presentation for those parents who are interested to find out more about the extra support services they provide.
Unfortunately there won’t be any parking available at Sha Tin College at this time and so I recommend that you make alternative transport arrangements. I would be grateful if you could email our Lower School Administrator at alil3@stconline.edu.hk to confirm your attendance for this event by Friday 13th May.
The Y7 classes have not yet been finalised but I will inform you about which House and Tutor group your child will be in at the end of May.
I look forward to meeting you in June. A full registration pack and information about August 15th will be sent to you later on this term. The first day of Term 1 for Year 7 students will be Monday 15th August.
