What is your name?
Nathan Hui

Where are you studying?
The Chinese University of Hong Kong, HKSAR

What is your major?
MBChB-GPS

How do you describe your University?
CUHK’s beautiful campus, tight-knit yet diverse community and excellence in academics have harmoniously blended into the ideal university experience thus far. While more ‘local’ than what I, as an ESF graduate, may have once envisioned university life to be, it has been a perfect opportunity to tread into a life beyond my comfort zone and grow as a person.
Regarding my course, my academic pursuits have only been enriched by the freedom of CUHK’s MBChB curriculum and the opportunities offered by the GPS programme.

What is the happiest experience in your first year?
I participated in the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations’ annual March Meeting in Estonia, representing the Asian Medical Students’ Association in Hong Kong. The trip was filled with irreplaceable memories and experiences that will stick with me for a lifetime, from strengthening friendships with fellow HK delegates to learning about the lives of medical students from almost every corner of the world!

What is your top tip/advice that you will give to Sha Tin College students on their Higher Education?
Do not hesitate to ask for help! While applying to universities – especially at the start – I recall feeling lost and uncertain about my decisions, largely because of my lack of proactiveness. Is this university beyond my reach? Will this other course fit me better? Is going abroad right for me, or should I stay in HK? A lot of these questions can be answered by friends, seniors, teachers, and most importantly STC’s very own higher education department!
