European Languages: Competition Results
The school year is coming to an end, and what a year it has been! In European Languages we have all upgraded our tech skills, teachers and students alike. We have discovered new learning platforms or new features of the old ones. Flipgrid told us that we have been posting 568 videos!
We were very sad that the famous AFLE (French Speakers Association) French Speech Competition where Sha Tin College students have shone every year was cancelled due to recent events. However, we did participate in the AFLE French Poster Competition, where our students competed against students from schools all over Hong Kong.
We had 8 finalists and received a lot of awards, including:

Abigail Wong, 8P1 – 3rd Place

Catégorie C : Affiche du concours d’affiches 2020
Cassandra Dobson, 7X1 – 3rd Place
We also entered the Education Perfect Languages Championships. Our students displayed great enthusiasm and we finished first out of 12 participating schools in Hong Kong for French, with an average score of 134 points per students.
We received a total of 12 individual awards. A special mention to Kiran Balasundaramkuppuraj, 10X2 who was presented with an Emerald Award with more than 5000 points earned, placing him in the top 1%. We are very proud of all the students who participated as they contributed to their own learning and to Sha Tin College’s success.
We are looking forward to next year and to sharing new adventures as we advance together on our language learning path.
