Year 13 Graduation Ceremony 2020-2021

Year 13 Graduation Ceremony 2020-2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Firstly, we would like to thank you for your patience and understanding while we have been finalising our plans for the Year 13 Graduation Ceremony. We have liaised closely with ESF to ensure that we can hold an enjoyable and memorable event that also conforms to the social distancing restrictions currently in place.

This year’s Graduation Ceremony for Year 13 students will take place on Saturday 29th May; please put the date in your diaries.

This event is a great opportunity for students and parents/guardians to celebrate the end of formal education at Sha Tin College and to look forward to the next stage in their lives. The event will consist of speeches, the presentation of certificates to students, the award of prizes for academic success and progress in all IB subjects and performances by the students.

In order to comply with restrictions, we are unable to hold a ceremony for the whole year group at the same time so we will be splitting the year group into their Houses and will hold four separate ceremonies. The times for each ceremony are as follows:-

9.30am – 10.30am Dragon

11.30am – 12.30pm Griffin

1.30pm – 2.30pm Pegasus

3.30pm – 4.30pm Phoenix

The students will need to arrive 30 minutes before their ceremony starts in order for us to take a group photograph and have a short rehearsal. After the event families will be able to stay on the campus for a further 30 minutes to take photographs.

As we have a limit on the number of people we can accommodate in the main hall, each student is only allowed to have three guests at the ceremony.

A professional photographer will be in attendance for individual and family photographs. We will also take a photograph of each tutor group and the photographer will then present all four photographs as a composite image of the whole year group.

Please note that masks will need to be worn at all times, temperatures will be taken upon arrival, and parents/guardians will need to sign a Travel & Health Declaration. Anyone who has been out of HK in the previous 14 days should not come on campus. As with all STC functions, there will be no car parking facilities.

We hope your family will be able to attend this highly memorable event. In order to assist with our arrangements please click here to fill in the reply slip by Friday 7 May.
