Year 12 CEM Data Information Evening
Dear Parents / Guardians,
We would like to invite you to an information evening on Tuesday 20th November from 6.00 – 7.00 pm in the Senior School Centre (SSC). The purpose of the evening is to give you some more detailed information about the CEM IBE (formally ALIS) tests that your child took last August. These are baseline tests which, combined with IGCSE data, are designed to estimate potential rather than to describe academic achievement.
The CEM IBE tests provide valuable guidance for students, parents and teachers, helping to inform us about how we can best support students in their learning. During the week starting 19th November all students will meet with their tutor to look at their personal CEM IBE data. Tutors will offer guidance as to what the data means and will explain to the students what their CEM IBE scores tell them about setting realistic targets for IB.
At the information evening, Mr. Morgan will give a presentation explaining the purpose and value of the tests in far more detail. After the presentation, you will be able to collect a copy of your child’s CEM IBE data and ask questions. Please note that test results are confidential and must be signed for by parents. Students will soon be seeing their own data so there is no need for them to attend, though they are welcome. We shall post home any results that are not collected on the evening.
If you are able to attend, please confirm your attendance via email seniorschool administrator@stconline.edu.hk by 3.30pm on Monday 19th November.
We look forward to seeing you then.
Yours faithfully,
Gareth Morgan Jane Parry
