Post-16 Exhibition Evening

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

Sha Tin College will host its annual Post-16 Exhibition Evening on Thursday 25th October 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. Students, parents and guardians will have the opportunity to learn more about the various options on offer, such as the IB Diploma Programme (IB DP) and different alternative curriculum pathways that are available at Sha Tin College. This year, we are particularly excited as an authorised IB World School to be able to speak to you about the IB Career-related Programme (IB CP). The evening will start at 5pm in the Hall, with a 30-minute presentation to provide parents, guardians and students with a general overview of the various curriculum pathways we offer. The exhibits, which are mainly located in Departmental classrooms, will open from 5:30pm until 7:30pm. We will provide a map of the various locations on the day of the Exhibition. There will also be light refreshments served in the new Senior School Centre and on the ground floor.

Please spend some time with your child to read the Year 12 and 13 Curriculum brochure (which is also available on the College website or the hyperlink here) and discuss the various options available prior to the Post-16 Exhibition Evening. This important publication provides details of the options available to students applying to study at the College after their (I)GCSE examinations.

A major purpose of the evening is to offer you the chance to ask questions regarding your child’s Post-16 curriculum pathways and option choices, including matters related to Higher Education. There will be a large number of people available on the evening, including members of the Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Department, subject specialist teachers, the Higher Education team, and student ambassadors from the Senior School. Members of the Chinese and Mathematics Departments will also be available to explain the various IB options available to students.

If you have any initial questions about the IB Career-related Programme, please contact Mr. Luke Smetherham (lfs@shatincollege.edu.hk). If you have preliminary questions related to Higher Education and Careers, please email Mr. David Stott (dzs@shatincollege.edu.hk).

We look forward to meeting you at the Post-16 Exhibition Evening on Thursday 25th October from 5:00pm to 7:30pm.

Yours faithfully,
