Parent-Teacher Conferences 2019-2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Parent-Teacher Conferences 2019-2020
I would like to take this opportunity to inform you about our Parent-Teacher Conferences taking place at Sha Tin College this academic year. This year, we will be trialing a new system for Parent-Teacher Conferences, which will provide a wider range of time for appointment slots, enabling greater flexibility for parents. The new system, which has been based on parental feedback, will provide one evening and one day for appointment slots to be made. This is a system successfully in place in many international schools both here in Hong Kong and across the world.
Years 7, 11 and 13
Our trial event will take place with Years 7, 11 and 13 on Wednesday 6th and Friday 8th November. Available times for appointments will be:
- Wednesday 6th November: 3:30pm – 6:30pm and
- Friday 8th November: 08:15am – 3:15pm
Please note: As per the school calendar; Friday 8th November is therefore a non-school day for all year groups.
Booking your appointments
In order to ensure flexibility to parents and enable them to select the most convenient time possible we will continue to use an online booking system, which, this year will be accessed through SMART. This is in line with our continued efforts to streamline our school specific information through SMART. Further information regarding the booking process will be sent out next week, however, in the meantime should you need to reset your SMART username / password, please contact scsystem@stconline.edu.hk for assistance.
Years 8, 9, 10 and 12
Parent-Teacher conferences for Years 8, 9, 10 and 12 will remain as in previous years, offering one evening per year group at various times throughout the year. The dates for which are as follows:
- Year 8 – Tuesday 17th March
- Year 9 – Tuesday 26th November
- Year 10 – Thursday 5th March
- Year 12 – Wednesday 19th February
As always, these meetings are a valuable chance to meet with your child’s individual subject teachers to discuss how your child has settled in since the start of year, review their progress, and consider next steps in their learning. All of our curriculum subjects are equally valued and we encourage parents to make appointments to see all subjects. Where possible, we also encourage attendance of your child at these meetings as we believe this open-dialogue is an important part of your child’s development.
We look forward to welcoming you into the college.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Kate Rogers
Vice Principal
