Important Information for Year 7 and 8 Parents

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope you enjoyed a happy and memorable summer with your children. It will be wonderful for us to see them and to hear all their stories. As we embark on what will be another tremendous year, I will welcome your co-operation on a few matters.

Firstly, this is a busy school environment which we try to ensure is as safe and harmonious as possible. Each student is provided with a locker and expected to use it to secure any valuables which must be brought to school. We reinforce with students that establishing good habits and taking responsibility for their possessions is sensible practice. There is a Checklist for Missing Items (click here to view) in each Tutor room, but please remind your child that simply leaving valuable items unsecured is unacceptable.

Secondly, unless you have an emergency, please remember that we can only meet if a prior appointment has been made. This allows us to prioritise you when we are not teaching and dedicate uninterrupted time to you.

Thirdly, if your child is unwell and unable to attend school email Ms Lia Ali at lowerschoolabsences@shatincollege.edu.hk. Please also copy the message to your child’s Tutor. If your child needs to leave school early, then please email your child’s Tutor and lowerschoolabsences@shatincollege.edu.hk explaining the reason for the early departure. Students need to sign out at Reception. Full details of the procedures for “Lates and Absences” can be found here.

Finally, please make sure that your child brings a padlock (key lock, not combination) into school on the first day.
