Health and Well-Being Week 2016

Health and Well-Being Week
Monday 30th May – Friday 3rd June 2016
Dear Parents,
Health and Well-being week is scheduled to take place on Monday 30th May to Friday 3rd June 2016. Our aim is to raise awareness of the importance of Health & Well-Being. There will be many exciting Health related activities taking place in PE lessons, during extra-curricular time and across many subject areas throughout the week. The teaching staff involved have been working together to ensure that the students gain an overall view of what it means to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Similar to last year, we will have the exciting addition of the Alternative Curriculum Day (ACD) which will be held on Thursday 2nd June.  The Alternative Curriculum Day will involve each subject department organising an activity/trip for an allocated small group of students. The idea behind this is to create an opportunity for the lower school students to enjoy, and benefit from all aspects of education, try their hand at a new activity, relax, and make new friends.
To help motivate the students to get involved they will be able to ‘dress sporty’ on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  If your child is going to wear sports clothes then they must dress according to the schedule below:
Wednesday – The Sports Team you support
Thursday (Alternative Curriculum Day) – House Colours or PE kit
Friday – The Sports Team you play in or a team from your country of origin.
*Please note that if your child does not want to wear sports clothes then they must wear school uniform as usual.
This week has been fully funded by Sha Tin College PTSA and we are grateful for their continued support.  I am sure that it will be an enjoyable and informative week for everybody involved.  If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me at school.
*You will receive further activities about your child’s activity on the Alternative Curriculum day later this week.
