HE Activities – March 2023

Although our HE team and students have many different daily commitments, we are always trying our best to gather the latest information from universities worldwide. This month, we have explored the higher education opportunities in New Zealand, the UK and Hong Kong.

Massey University (NZ) – 13th March
Massey University is the first New Zealand university visited Sha Tin College. Massey University was founded almost 100 years ago and has three campuses in Auckland, Palmerston North and Wellington.

Massey University Veterinary Programme was the first veterinary programme in the Southern Hemisphere to gain American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accreditation. It means that Massey’s graduates will be able to work in New Zealand, the UK, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada and the USA.

As the only provider in New Zealand, their Bachelor of Aviation programme also attracts many international students.

Royal Veterinary College, University of London (UK) – 15th March
Victoria O-Young, a former student of Royal Veterinary College (RVC) met with a group of aspiring veterinarians in order to share her university application experience as well as study experience. Victoria also talked about the Veterinary Nursing, Veterinary Science and Biological Science programmes offered at RVC. It’s good to see our students gain so much useful information for preparing for future university applications.

 

 

Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences – City University of Hong Kong in collaboration with Cornell University – 21st March

While students who are passionate about animal health & welfare and would like to pursue relevant courses here in Hong Kong, The Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) offered by Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences, City University of Hong Kong, is one of the programmes that students can consider. BVM is a 6-year programme with an emphasis on both clinical practice and science-based education because the College aims to produce well-rounded veterinarians. Furthermore, their veterinary focus is preventing and tackling emerging zoonotic diseases, promoting aquatic animal health, enhancing animal welfare and improving food safety. The intake number of BVM is 30 and the competitive score for IB applicants is 40 or above.

Falmouth University (UK) – 21st March
Located in the southwest of England, Falmouth University is an Art University offering a wide range of creative programmes such as Animation, Architecture, Fashion & Textiles, Games & Computing, Music and Photography. Falmouth University is the No. 1 Creative Arts University in the UK*, where students enjoy their chosen courses at a 2nd safest university town in the UK!**.

UK Mini Fair (UK) – 22nd March
There were a lot of Year 10 to Year 12 students joining the UK mini fair which was held at STC on 22nd March. Thank you to the admission people of University of Nottingham, Cardiff University, University of York, University of Huddersfield, University of Liverpool and University of Leicester who provided the most updated information to our students. Our students understand more about the admission process and requirements as well as the universities.
