“Achieving Well” Pilot Programme: An Online Wellbeing Programme for Students

Dear Parents and Guardians,

At Sha Tin College, we are always on the lookout for tools and resources that can support us in our efforts to enhance the social-emotional wellbeing of our students.

This term we will be trialing a pilot program called “Achieving Well” where the aim is to share foundational wellbeing knowledge and emotional problem-solving skills with teenagers. The programme is delivered through a series of online videos. It is designed to be self-paced and self-guided, allowing students to choose the topics that interest them. The programme has been developed by Dr. Jamie Chiu, founder of ‘The Brightly Project’ and has been funded by the Sha Tin College PTSA.

We have already introduced ‘Achieving Well’ during an online assembly and students will now have the option to sign-up and try-out the programme. Students who elect to sign up will be given access to the course materials and invited to participate in feedback sessions. These will allow them to share how useful they found the information and what topics they would like to see covered in the future. Participation is completely voluntary and not considered part of school work.

If you have any questions, the programme’s creator, Dr. Jamie Chiu, Clinical Psychologist, is happy to answer any inquiries. She can be reached at jamie@drjamiechiu.com.

*Please note that ‘Achieving Well’ is intended to deliver foundational knowledge for students about how to look after their wellbeing. It is not designed or intended to be a mental health intervention, a substitute or alternative for counselling or therapy. If you have any concerns about your child’s wellbeing, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
