Philosophy & Physics

Despite the barrier of COVID-related restrictions to our everyday learning, the use of technology has made it possible for us to broaden our horizons by welcoming various guest speakers. Recently, we were able to invite the distinguished philosopher and author Professor Stephen Law to deliver a talk on the relationship between physics and philosophy, focusing on the principles of armchair philosophy and its role in a world that increasingly tends towards empiricism.

Students from all Senior School year levels were invited to join, and we had a high turnout of students from various disciplines. After Dr Law’s riveting presentation, we were able to host a Q&A session that allowed for students to ask questions of Dr Law, engaging in high-quality discussions on the nature of truth, the Evil God Challenge, as well as the compatibility of metaphysics and physics. We are extremely grateful to have had such an exciting opportunity for education and development, and we hope to host more of such events in the future!
