Message from the new Principal

Dear Parents & Guardians,   As I conclude my first week at Sha Tin College I would like to take a moment to reflect on what a wonderful week it has been.  I have had the opportunity to introduce myself to the student body during year level assemblies and I hope to see Years 7 & 8 on Monday and Tuesday morning.  I also met with a very engaged and articulate group of students who make up the STC Student Council to learn more about what they have achieved this year and what they have on the agenda for next year.  Students I have spoken to informally in the corridors and during lunch have been warm, engaging and very welcoming, which I have really appreciated.

I particularly enjoyed the meeting I had on Wednesday evening with our PTSA. The relationship with parents and guardians is one I value and Stephanie Choy (Chair) and her team are very committed to working with the teachers and the leadership team in promoting a sense of community and facilitating a genuine partnership between parents/guardians and the College.

The opportunity I had to meet formally with all the teaching and support staff on Tuesday afternoon was good-humoured, warm and welcoming. The commitment of the entire staff to support our students has been evident from the first day I visited the College and your children are certainly in great hands.

As you are probably well aware we have an amazing student-led Media Team. They plan to interview me next week and share this with the community as a means of introducing me more formally.  I look forward to hearing what their questions will be – so watch out for the article in the next week or so!
