REMINDER: The PTSA Uniform Shop will be open until Friday, 21st June 2019. From August 2019, the Sha Tin College Uniform Service will be handled by ESF Central Procurement. The new uniform website will be open for orders from 15th June 2019. Orders can be placed online or made directly at their store in Lai Chi Kok.

The PTSA Uniform Shop is also offering a 50% discount on all uniform items (excluding swimwear). The old style of uniforms differ only slightly from the new uniforms and this can be worn as long as is needed so don’t miss out on a great bargain!

Uniform Requirements

Uniform is worn by all students in Years 7-11. It is available through the PTSA shop at their shop, located in Sha Tin Junior School and consists of:

  1. ■ Navy blue trousers with school logo on pocket
  2. ■ Navy blue skorts with school logo, for girls<
  3. ■ White cotton shirt, short sleeved, with school logo on breast pocket
  4. ■ Navy blue school fleece or sweatshirt with school logo
  5. ■ Navy blue team hoodie
  6. ■ Navy blue school hoodie
  7. ■ Navy blue cardigan with school logo
  8. ■ Plain white or navy socks, long or short
  9. ■ Black low-heeled shoes/ trainers (all parts of the shoe/ trainer must be BLACK)

We recommend in the interests of hygiene and comfort that training shoes worn when playing sport or during PE lessons are different from those worn in lessons.

  1. Trousers should be hemmed and well fitted.
  2. All items of uniform must be clearly marked with the student’s name.
  3. Make-up should be minimal and discreet.
  4. Nail varnish is not permitted.
  5. Jewellery should not detract from the image of the school uniform. It should consist of: Two pairs of studs or sleepers (maximum two per ear).
    1. One bracelet
    2. One ring
    3. Jewellery should be removed during PE lessons.
  6. Hair must be a natural colour
  7. When the Cold Weather Warning is in place, students may wear additional clothing, such as jackets, for example. These should be a dark colour, preferably navy blue or black, and they should be worn over the uniform. When the Cold Weather Warning is NOT in place, everyone must wear the correct school uniform at all times.

PE Kit is available at the school shop and consists of: blue shorts; school PE shirt in House colours, swimming costume/shorts and a swimming cap. Students supply their own training shoes and white socks.

Please note: The Head of PE will be the final arbiter of what is acceptable.

Drama students need a plain black T-shirt and shorts or trousers.

Senior School (Years 12 and 13)
Students in the Senior School need not wear uniform but are expected to dress appropriately for a place of learning. Casual clothes are suitable, but must be clean and smart. Jewellery and make up must always be discreet.

Senior School Dress Code:

  1. ■ Clothing may be casual but must always be practical, well presented and clean
  2. ■ Clothing should not contain any provocative or offensive slogans or designs
  3. ■ No headgear to be worn indoors
  4. ■ Footwear should be appropriate for climbing stairs (i.e. no flip flops)
  5. ■ Underwear must not be visible
  6. ■ T-shirts/blouses must cover shoulders and upper arms and be full length
  7. ■ Skirts and shorts must be of a reasonable length
  8. ■ All jewellery must be discreet and suitable for the school environment.

One facial piercing (a discreet stud only and excluding ear piercing) is allowed but prior approval must be obtained from a member of the Senior School Team. If you are unsure about whether a piece of jewellery is acceptable please ask a member of the Senior School Team

Please note that in all cases and for all year groups Heads of Section and year will be the final arbiters of what is acceptable.
