Message from the Principal

Dear Parents & Guardians,

The Sha Tin College campus is particularly alive this morning with energy and excitement as we all get ready for a well-earned summer holiday.  Much has been achieved by our students over the course of the last term with IGCSE and IBDP exams successfully completed & graduation and award ceremonies hosted to celebrate our students’ successes.

The last term started with a Math Fair extravaganza and since then the Y9 Science Competition, AYP Gold Expedition, Y7 Debating Competition, Y9 Genocide Memorials, concerts and dance performances, and Y7 & Y8 Charity Days, to name just a few, have filled many lunchtimes and evenings and kept us all busy and engaged.  Our students have also been recognized beyond the College for their successes with STC students winning the ESF Chef Competition and our Y12 students being awarded CEO of the Year and IT Director at the Junior Achievement Awards. It is impossible to capture the sheer breadth of what happens at Sha Tin College on a daily basis. However, if you follow our Twitter and Facebook posts you will enjoy, on a regular basis, the energy of this amazing school.

Energy was certainly the order of the day last Tuesday as our students participated in our annual House competition, Glee.  It gave me goosebumps sitting in the audience watching our students sing their hearts out and dance their socks off!  It was the personification of joy itself and a wonderful end to our academic year.

As with all endings, however, there are some members of our community who will not be joining us in August. To all our departing students, families and staff we wish you the very best of luck for what lies ahead.  You will always have a home at Sha Tin College and we look forward to hearing from you and hopefully seeing you all again in the future.

While many of us will now enjoy a few weeks of rest and relaxation our Y13 students await with eager anticipation the outcome of their IBDP exams.  We will keep them in our hearts and thoughts over the next few weeks and wish them all the very best of luck.

On behalf of everyone at Sha Tin College, I would like to wish you all a safe and fun-filled summer to re-charge and re-fresh. We look forward to seeing you all again in August.

Kind regards.
Carol Larkin
